Streaming services

For decades we have been collecting recordings.
Then internet came along.
You don't buy physical media anymore but download files and store your audio on a hard disk.
Save a tremendous amount of space compared with a rack full of CDs or vinyl.
But you still have your own collection.
The ultimate consequence of the internet is not having a collection of your own at all.
Subscribe to a streaming audio service and take your pick from a couple of million tracks.

Today alsmost all streaming audio services do have a lossless tier.
Even Apple moved from AAC to ALAC.

Often a highres tier is offered as well.
